Abstract:
It is widely acknowledged that a company can gain competitive advantage through effective human resource practices. Recognizing the link between human resource practices and the concept of learning organization, the current study attempts to examine their interrelationships which have received very little research attention to date. The statistical results obtained from 37 manufacturing firms indicate significant positive relationships between human resource practices and learning organization. This study suggests that a learning organization can be developed by rewarding desirable learning behaviors when individual performance improved. Subsequently, it also aids organizations in the design of a performance management scheme that supports the development of individuals in organizations.
